Enroll for the IAAK's Student Advisor Programme and help one of our Erasmus students during their first days in Bonn!
As a student advisor, you will be one of our incoming students' contact person for general questions on Bonn, the university, and student life. The programme is a great chance to foster international friendships and to get to know other cultures better.
What are a student advisor's tasks?
Your tasks as a student advisor involve:
- Contacting the Erasmus student
- Welcoming the student in Bonn
- Assisting the student in academic and organisational matters, especially during their first days
How can I apply?
In order to apply for the Student Advisor Programme, please fill in the application form and send it to the Departmental Erasmus Coordinator.
Application deadline for the summer term 2025: 15 February 2025
Further information
Will I receive a certificate for my participation?
Yes, you will receive an official certificate for your participation in the Student Advisor Programme from the Erasmus Office of the Department of English, American and Celtic Studies.
Your participation in the Student Advisor Programme also qualifies for Component C of the University of Bonn's Certificate of Intercultural Competence, if you are interested in obtaining that as well.
What is the difference between the Student Advisor Programme and the Study Buddy Programme?
The Student Advisor Programme and the Study Buddy Programme are different programmes. Both programmes are student support services, but they aim at different target groups. The Study Buddy Programme is led by Bonn's international office and will give you the chance to meet international students who came to Bonn by various exchange programmes. More information can be found here.
The Student Advisor Programme is part of the IAAK's Erasmus+ programme and was set up particularly for English students. You will support students from all over Europe during their starting time.
