Bonn University Shakespeare Company
Bonn University Shakespeare Company e.V. (BUSC) produces a wide range of english-language plays. The members take on all the tasks that arise during a production – both onstage and behind the scenes. Everybody who is interested in theatre is cordially invited to join!
Fachschaft Anglistik
The Fachschaft are an elected group of your peers who represent your interests to the faculty and university. They also provide guidance and help desks for various issues.
Bonn Speculative Fiction Group
BSFG was founded in April 2019 and currently has more than 140 members. Meetings take place in person and they read a new book every month. You can join meetings even if you haven't finished the book yet, you also do not have to talk if you don't want to!
Reading speculative fiction is more than an escapist past-time. The power of speculative fiction should not be underestimated as it can change the way we see things. It also gives us pleasure. Yet, we sometimes forget to read for pleasure and not just for a term paper or a final exam… Let’s change that!
Creative Writing Competion
Initiated by David Moroney, Cleopatra Goularas, and Marthe-Siobhán Hecke in 2020, the Department of English, American and Celtic Studies organises a Writing Competition every term. In 2022 the first volume of "Lingering Lines", a journal for selected Writing Competition winning pieces and art works by IAAK students was published for the first time.
Creative Writing Society
A student run writing society, located in Bonn. The group holds twice-monthly meetings in which they do writing exercises, discuss individual projects, or simply get some writing done. Sometimes they organise storytelling events or writing workshops. They hope to build a environment that their community finds productive and inspiring.
(re)searching voices
(re)searching voices is a lecture series by students, for students. Anyone can give talks and presentations on whatever topic has caught their fancy!
Queer Referat
The Queer-Referat seeks to represent all queer students. They provide civic education on topics of sexual, romantic, and gender diversity and pursue community building with a variety of social events.
