Niq Mhlongo is a South African writer and travel journalist. He is the author of five novels Dog Eat Dog (2004), After Tears (2007), Way Back Home (2013), Paradise in Gaza (2020), The City Is Mine (2024) and the collections of short stories Affluenza (2016), Soweto, Under the Apricot Tree (2018) and For You, I’d Steal a Goat (2022).
His work has been awarded and nominated for numerous prestigious prizes, including the Mar De Letras Internacionale and the Herman Charles Bosman Prize for English Fiction.
Dog Eat Dog and After Tears were adapted into radio drama series by the BBC, Bush Radio, SAFM, and Swedish Radio.
