Eighth Bonn Applied English Linguistics Conference (BAELc8)

The Eighth Annual Bonn Applied English Linguistics Conference took place on June 28-29, 2019 with a special focus on language assessment.

The conference was held at the Department of English, American, and Celtic Studies (IAAK), University of Bonn, Regina-Pacis-Weg 5, 53113 Bonn.

We were very pleased to have Professor Carsten Roever (Melbourne) as our keynote speaker this year, with a talk titled, "Assessment of second language pragmatics: past, present and future".

In addition, a special discussion panel titled, "Bringing pragmatics into the classroom: Prospects for language teaching and testing" with teachers Marja Meinl, Timo Brede, and Anne Nickel took place on Friday afternoon.

The official conference program and book of abstracts can be downloaded below.

Thank you to all who attended BAELc8: we look forward to seeing you again next year at BAELc9!
